Welcome to the fanlistings.org approved fanlisting for the relationship between Xena and Lao Ma. Xena and Lao Ma first came into contact with one another in Chin when Xena went there to conquer the land. Lao Ma saved Xena from being hunted by Ming Tzu's pack of wild dogs. And though it took a long time to sink in, Xena did understand what Lao Ma was trying to teach her. Lao Ma was really the first person to see Xena for who she truly was, someone who could achieve great things. The title comes from something Lao Ma would tell Xena, 'to conquer others is to know power. To conquer yourself is to know the way'.
