Because Emily has been with Casey's father and his Uncle. She's also the mother of his half-brother. Not to mention Emily's past as well is against her. But this relationship is so right on so many levels. She doesn't care that he spent time in jail and he doesn't care that she was a hooker. He stands up for her to people and she brings out a side to him that no one else sees. They both bring a side out in the other other one that other people don't see.
