Welcome to the fanlistings.org approved fanlisting for As The World Turns. As The World Turns is a daytime soap opera airing every weekday afternoon on CBS. It's also the second longest running soap opera on TV, Guiding Light is the longest running on. ATWT premiered on April 2, 1956 and features three main families on the show...Hughes, Stewarts, and Snyders. There's more families than that, but those three are the main ones right now on the show. ATWT is set in the ficitonal town of Oakdale, Illinois. Helen Wagner who plays Nancy Hughes is the only original cast member still on the show, she's been on the show since it's premiere in 1956. Don Hastings (Bob Hughes) and Eileen Fulton (Lisa Grimaldi) are the other longest tenured cast members on the show, they joined in 1960. ATWT has had way too many cast members over the years to even list here. Version one of the layout features the three supercouples of the show...Lily and Holden, Carly and Jack, and Tom and Margo.
